The University is accredited by the Association for Biblical Higher Education Commission on Accreditation to grant certificates and degrees at the associate, baccalaureate, master’s and doctoral levels. CSU has been accredited with ABHE since 1968.

Middle State Commission on Higher Education
Clarks Summit University has been accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education since 1984. Clarks Summit University is an accredited institution and a member of the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) www.msche.org. Clarks Summit University’s accreditation status is Probation. The Commission’s most recent action on the institution’s accreditation status on November 20, 2023, was to place on Probation. MSCHE is an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Any person wishing to submit a third-party comment regarding Clarks Summit University’s compliance with standards for accreditation, requirements of affiliation, policies and procedures, and applicable federal regulatory may do so at the MSCHE Commission’s website by May 3, 2024.

Pennsylvania Department of Education
All undergraduate education degrees offered by Clarks Summit University have been approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
The Early Childhood and Elementary PK–4, Secondary Education English, Secondary Education Social Studies, Secondary Education Mathematics, PreK–12 Physical Education/Health, and PreK–12 Music Education programs are approved for Pennsylvania state certification.
