Long-term Housing & Meals

You can enjoy the convenience and affordability of living in a residence hall right on campus. We encourage you to get involved in campus events and activities throughout the year as a part of your student life experience!

Accommodations

Each floor in a residence hall at Clarks Summit University is made up of a lounge and three suites. Each suite contains three bedrooms and a shared bathroom. Each room is equipped with two beds with mattresses, two desks with chairs, two dressers and a closet. The bottom floor of Commons Hall houses female graduate and seminary students, and the bottom floor of Shaffer Hall houses male graduate and seminary students. In each of these residence halls, students will have access to a shared living area that includes a fully functioning kitchen, laundry facility and wifi.

Meals

The cafeteria at Clarks Summit University is run by Aladdin Food Management Services. Our dining program is designed to provide a quality experience with a variety of options to please everyone and meet the needs of today’s university students.

Graduate and seminary students may choose to purchase a 14 or 21 meal plan during the fall and spring semesters. Clarks Summit University also offers a block of 10 meals for commuter, graduate and seminary students who do not wish to purchase an entire meal plan. This option can be purchased at the business office during regular hours. These meal tickets expire at the end of the school year and are non-refundable.

Check-In & Check-Out

Students may check into their residence halls the weekend before classes begin. Check out is the Saturday of Commencement. Our institutional calendar can assist you in finding these dates.

Visiting Guests

Residential students are welcome to have guests visit during the semester. Permission to have guests stay in residence halls (including alumni) must be requested at least 24 hours in advance with the Office for Student Development, and a fee for accommodations will be collected at that time. Guests are limited to three-night visits, must be between 13 and 30 years old and are expected to abide by Clarks Summit University’s community standards. Students are directly responsible for the actions of their guests while they’re on campus.

Persons of the opposite gender are not allowed in residents’ suites or rooms at any time.

Summer Housing

Special permission must be requested from the Office of Student Development to stay in residence halls over the summer months. If approval is granted, there is no guarantee that you will be able to keep your current room as we must make arrangements for summer camps and conferences.

Students will be charged the undergraduate semester rate to live on campus during the summer.

Storage space is not available for students who will not be living on campus during the summer.

How to Apply

Housing availability is limited and operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Graduate and seminary students are eligible to apply for housing as long as they are enrolled in six or more on-site credit hours. Exceptions to this policy must be requested through the Office for Student Development.
