Distinctives: An Immersive Mentorship Experience

Every seminary has its own unique heartbeat; its own values and distinctives. At BBS our faculty values six distinctives that serve you well as you prepare for a life of ministry for Jesus Christ. This month we highlight our emphasis on an immersive mentorship experience.

BBS is committed to training students that are able to take what they learn in their courses and to put it into practice in a ministry setting. At the core of our Master of Divinity is our immersive mentorship program.

The seminary’s mentorship program emphasizes personal discipleship and mentoring from godly Christian leaders. These mentors work alongside you to develop your spiritual maturity and ministry competencies within a specific ministry setting.

Students enrolled in the Master of Divinity serve in a local church or ministry site to complete a 12-credit mentorship, normally over a 9- or 10-month time period. In many instances, this is a paid position. Students are immersed in the life of a local church or ministry as they integrate academics and practice in service for the Lord.

Merging strong biblical training with an immersive ministry experience prepares you well for a life and career of serving Jesus and his church.
