La Fuente Church, Quito, Ecuador

Ministry Highlights

The Lord provided a great opportunity for me to travel to Germany on a short mission’s trip. It was a blessing not only to spend time, teach and work with believers in the area, but to reflect and get a fresh perspective of ministry through the eyes of faithful brothers building the kingdom and facing their unique challenges.

It was a blessing to finish preaching through the book of 1 Peter. The Lord brought much fruit and I am excited to see how the church is growing in maturity and numbers.

I was able to attend Shepherds Conference and take with me a brother that is now a lay elder at the church. It was an encouraging time and I am grateful that the Lord has allowed us to provide this opportunities to faithful men that are wanting to grow.

Key Prayer Requests

This is a season of change in the ministry in Ecuador. Some key leaders are transitioning into different roles and other ministries starting in June. Please for wisdom as the church experiences these transitions.

Please pray for us as we seek to raise funds to facilitate ministry opportunities (missionary ministry) that are opening up.  We are in the U.S. raising support. Pray for wisdom as we navigate partnerships and how to have the biggest gospel impact!

Please pray for safe travels and sweet time as a family as we are in the U.S. for my graduation too. Pray that we can have time to rest and have a little vacation.

Prominent Lessons

God has impressed in my heart the need to help our church see the impact that they could do outside Quito. I would love to see young, passionate, and faithful Ecuadorian missionaries be commissioned to serve in places in Europe were the church needs help from people like that.

A few days ago I was in Wittenberg and I was reminded once again that the Word is what does the work in ministry. It’s been great to see how the preaching of His Word in the epistle of Peter is already doing the work of ministry and that my role is to continue to faithfully preach His word.

Also, learning to trust the Lord and put boundaries around my schedule. If God’s Word is the one working, I can go to bed, or check out at the end of the day, and trust that His Word is at work.

Key Goals for the Next Month

Finish my ACBC exam and other details to graduate!

Treasure time with family. I really want to enjoy this time with the 3 of us here in the U.S. as well as enjoy seeing our daughter spend time with the family that she doesn’t get to see often. I love seeing her with her grandparents, cousins and the rest of our families.

Recharge batteries by doing #2 well. This last year has been really crazy.

Write an article for The Gospel Coalition (Spanish).

Ministry Highlights

We have a couple in our church that wants to start pre-engagement counseling. We praise God that they want to seek him in this new chapter of their lives.

We see the Lord strengthening relationships in our body, especially in our community group. People are practicing the one-anothers in caring for each other.

Key Prayer Requests

Please pray for wisdom as we start pre-engagement counseling with the couple that I mentioned above.

Please pray that people will continue to open their lives to one another and seek to care for them above themselves.

Please pray as we travel a lot to visit various supporting church prior to graduation. Pray that we can continue to nurture these relationships and for new partners with our ministry in Ecuador.

Prominent Lessons

I am currently meeting with the wife of one of our elders. I have been blessed and humbled by this unexpected relationship. I see the Lord growing her and me and that he has us meeting together for a reason.

My husband was in Germany for a week and a half and my daughter and I were able to travel to the states and be with my parents during this time. I was not looking forward to this time, especially since he need to be gone just two weeks earlier too, but I wanted to be prayerful about it, because I knew it was in the Lord’s plan. Once again, I was comforted and encouraged by the Lord to seek Him as my fulfillment and praise Him for my husband, the work he is doing and the opportunities he has.

Key Goals for the Next Month

We are in the states raising support and visiting with current supporters as well as family. I would like to help encourage my husband to work as well as spend time with family. This may be our last trip to the states for awhile, so we want to cherish this time.

Start the pre-engagment counseling with the couple from our church (via skype) and be consistent in meeting with them.

Send our supporters thank you cards and gifts.
