Clarks Summit University was recently named on the 2017 list for of Most Affordable Online Colleges by SR Education Group of Kirkland, Washington. The education research publisher launched the rankings in January on OnlineU.org. The organization conducts extensive in-house research into program-specific tuition data and has compiled their research into affordability rankings covering 68 subjects.
CSU was ranked number 18 on the 2017 list of Most Affordable Online Colleges for Master’s Degrees. The university in South Abington Township was one of 26 online schools on the list.
CSU was also ranked number 17 for the 2017 Most Affordable Online Colleges for Counseling Degrees, and number 13 for specifically Christian Counseling degrees. All schools considered for this ranking offer fully online counseling degrees at the bachelor’s level or higher.
CSU degrees highlighted on the list were the Bachelor of Science in Counseling, Master of Science in Counseling, Master of Arts with a Counseling concentration and Baptist Bible Seminary’s Master of Ministry and Master of Divinity degrees with a concentration in Pastoral Counseling.
To be considered for ranking, schools were required to offer 10 or more fully online degrees, each with at least one at the bachelor’s or master’s degree level. Schools with programs that require some on-campus coursework were still considered for the rankings if the amount of in-person work allows students to retain their current employment or other personal responsibilities.
“One of the main considerations for prospective students is cost, but it’s not easy to find straightforward, standardized information about online college tuition, especially for specific programs,” said Sung Rhee, CEO of SR Education Group. “Since the beginning of OnlineU in 2013, we’ve been working on developing the best way to research and present affordability data. These new college rankings, based solely on annual tuition rates for distance learning, provide students with concise, user-friendly resources to help with their search for a quality, affordable education.”
