Prominent Lessons

As I was preparing for my sermon on Eph. 2:11-22, I am reminded the awesome thing that has done for us, that we who were once hostile towards God are now reconciled to God Himself; as a result of that amazing truth we are also called to be reconciled to one another in Christ. I am encouraged by the fact that the body of Christ, the Church is God’s very own creation through the blood of Christ and the bond we have in this body is supernatural. Maybe I am so aware of this, and I am able to rejoice in it because how practical this is to me in a very personal way. Just traveling to a country over 8,000 miles away from home and having to go to a school where no one looks like me and think or do things like me was scary a thought. Yet, from the moment I got here to this very day I know that there is something that makes me feel more common to my brothers and sisters in Christ, who outwardly look nothing like me, than I can ever have with the Buddhists or Muslims friends I grew up with all my life. This bond is the bond we received in Christ that also causes us do wonderful, beautiful things to each other something that those who are not in Christ will not understand. All these to say that, I am thankful for the body of Christ, I really appreciate the gathering of believers, the fellowship we can have together, it has saved me from homesickness, loneliness and discouragement, I would have to face without this beautiful creation called the CHURCH.

November is also the month of my birthday, and I felt so cared for by the people around me, I received many Facebook messages and people coming up to me and asking me how I am doing and that they are praying for me and wishing me a “happy birthday.” I guess I can say that I experienced in a new way the importance of the body of Christ, how God used the people around me to restore, comfort and encourage me. I am thankful for each and every one of them.
