Ministry Highlights
This past month I was ordained by my church as they recognized God’s call in my life. The ordination counsel was somewhat intimidating but ultimate went well and I learned a great deal also. It was a wonderful service that following Sunday, and I am very grateful for the church that God currently has me serving in.
We participated in the Word of Life all-nighter this past month called REVERB. It is an evangelistic opportunity for kids to invite friends to where the gospel is presented and then we stay up all night having all sorts of fun. It was a great night and even though none of the kids trusted Christ (that I know of) it provided a great opportunity to talk with teens about their faith and to just have fun with them.
This past month we had our annual Soup Supper on the Sunday before Thanksgiving. Our lead pastor was not here to lead that time, so I was given that honor, and it was a great time to be able to interact with those in our church and a few from outside of it as well. It was great to spend time building relationships and it also provided an opportunity to update our people on the particulars of the missions trip that is coming up to Costa Rica.
Pastor Jack was on vacation for the week leading up to and following Thanksgiving, and so I was able to preach and lead the services for those two weeks and it was a great joy and blessing to be able to do that.
Key Prayer Requests
Prayer for the training and preparations for the missions trip that I am leading to Costa Rica in February 2017.
I am hoping to finish up all the formal pieces of the internship this month so finding time to do that in the midst of ministry is something I would appreciate prayers for.
The month of December brings with it a great deal of opportunity. Prayers for our church’s ministries into our community as well as to our body during the season are always helpful.
Prominent Lessons
This month I have been challenged to realize that God has prepared me for ministry but He also has a great deal to teach me. I can be confident that He has gifted me and also humbled by that same truth.
I have learned that it is better to over communicate rather than under communicate. When there is a breakdown in this area there is most likely a breakdown in ministry somewhere, and that can be avoided easily by simply taking the time to communicate.
Key Goals for the Next Month
I would like finish up with the paperwork for the Applied Bible Analyses and the projects this month, so I can be done by the time January rolls around.
Our youth group is doing an outreach event this year to those in need in our community, so the goal is for the kids to get involved as much as possible as well as being able to have fun helping others in need.
I would like to get the younger group of kids more involved at youth group, so thinking through and implementing a plan to make that happen would be key this month and in the ones to come.

Ministry Highlights
My ministry highlight is our annual Soup Supper to celebrate Thanksgiving. It’s a great time of encouragement and getting to catch up with people that I don’t often get to talk to. And it’s a great reminder of all the ways God has worked throughout the year at and through our church.
Key Prayer Requests
Ministry and travel during the holidays.
Prominent Lessons
I’ve been going through the book of Matthew in my personal devotions. I’m always so amazed at how much it seems the disciples missed even though they were “doing life” with Jesus on a daily basis. But during our AWANA ministry I’ve had the opportunity to work more closely with a few other adults from our church that I haven’t spent much time with in the past. I started to realize through many of our conversations how I often I miss opportunities to show Christ even though those moments are happening right in front of me. God so often is already presenting opportunities that I either choose to overlook or I’m not watching and waiting to get involved. It’s been a challenge for me to remember to be living the gospel in every moment of my life, even in the mundane.
Key Goals for the Next Month
Consistency in daily devotions.
To do family devotions/advent reading daily.
