Prominent Lessons

As I mentioned in my Significant Lesson Discussion. With the election coming up, with all the discussions that take place in the dorm and on campus and also sermons being preached at church on this subject I have come to the realization that worrying too much on this matter does nothing for the us believers. God already has who He is doing to appoint as the next president for the USA and not just for this early election but for all the elections in the future as well. For this reason I try to encourage the students here on campus to never vote because of fear but rather vote with a conscience clear enough that when they stand before the Savior and give an account for all that they do and specifically for the votes they casted in 2016 (either for Trump or Hillary), that they would have a biblical reason(s) behind it to support their decisions.

At the end of the day God can and often does rise up rulers, leaders who we call evil or bad to judge another evil leader. One recent example for this would be President Obama, who to many believers in America is the worst president they ever had, is the president God chose to take down the dictator in my country. Obama is the man God chose to free a country in bondage for over 50 years under an evil dictator, which resulted in much more freedom for the churches there to worship and preach the Word. As human beings, we the believers in Myanmar rejoice in the Lord for that freedom we have now. The bottom line is, I think it’s important to remember that God has a much bigger plan and picture than for just America and according to His holiness, sovereignty, grace, love and mercy!

Having to continue my ministry in the area of music at the church, it has always been my prayer to be able to choose the songs that would be an encouragement to the church especially after having to go through the loss of a member and ex-member this month of October. There are also families and relatives of the lady who passed away in my praise team, so as the leader I am trying to be very intentional with my words and deeds towards them, so that I can be an encouragement. I see first hand that though we believers know the truth about death, that death is not the end for those who believe in Christ, yet we cannot overlook or deny the fact that death is still ugly, that it still hurts, it feels so wrong. This is why it is so important for the local church and believers to come alongside for our brothers and sisters in Christ who are going through such pain and loss. Having said all of these things, I am also reminded through my study in Ephesians that the worst thing that happen to a person is not death in itself but the worst thing is to die without being in Christ.
