Ministry Highlights
I was asked by a church member to go and visit his sick neighbor in the hospital. Instead of going alone, I asked him to come with me. Even as an older believer, he had never visited anyone in the hospital before, but after the visit felt competent that he could visit others in the hospital as a way to minister to our church body.
This month, we have been able to have a lot of people over our home. It has been awesome to get to know our church family better.
I held our Life Group (small groups) leaders training this month. We are kicking off three new groups in the fall!
I was able to preach out of Prov. 8:1-12 on August 8.
Key Prayer Requests
Our son started kindergarten this month. We are praying that we can be a light in his school through getting involved in the PTA there.
For a successful fall trimester with our Life Groups. We have made some dramatic changes to the expectations we have on our leaders and also the structure of how our Life Groups operate.
For opportunities to build a relationship with our Mormon neighbors.
For our kids ministry as I work alongside our children’s director.
Prominent Lessons
I need to equip others to do the work of the ministry, instead of trying to accomplish everything myself.
To thank God for the great team He has placed at our church. Our senior pastor was away for three weeks, and things ran pretty smoothly in his absence.
To pray daily for opportunities to share and show the Gospel to others.
Spending time in people’s home works hand in hand with my preaching ministry.
Key Goals for the Next Month
Visit each Life Group during one of their meetings.
Preach on Sept. 11 on our Life Group ministry.
Begin research on my fourth project.
Work on music for our children’s ministry.

Ministry Highlights
This month we are kicking off many of our kids’ ministries and small groups. We are really looking forward to meeting with our small group again after taking a break for the summer. I am also really excited for the new group we have in my K-1st grade Sunday school class!
Key Prayer Requests
Jackson just started kindergarten in our local school district. We would love prayer as we try to guide and protect his heart from influences outside of our control. We are also praying and considering opportunities to get involved in the school district (eg. PTA).
Prominent Lessons
God has really laid on my heart the importance of being very intentional with our children as we teach and train them. So during the summer I have been trying to re-train my mind to take advantage of “teachable” moments and de-clutter our schedule so we can have extra opportunities at home to teach and practice godly behavior/character with the kids. This goal has carried over in to our small group ministry. We have 12 kids in personal small group that are ages 8 years and younger. So during this semester of small groups we are trying to incorporate more intentional, productive BUT fun time with the kids in our meetings.
Key Goals for the Next Month
Getting in a good routine with Jackson in school.
Solidifying plans and projects that will need to be done for our Christmas event at church.
