On the first two weekends in June, nearly 900 women gathered at Clarks Summit University for the annual LYFE Women’s Conference. Each weekend, the participants were challenged to not merely survive, but to thrive in whatever season God has them.

Come and Find Rest

The conference included times of worship, fellowship and scripture-focused sessions. Keynote speaker Sherrie Holloway encouraged participants with truth found in Romans 8. According to Holloway, “My sessions were about the importance of seeing what God has done and then living it out because of His Spirit in us, our hope in what is to come and the security of His love.”

Other speakers and performers included Carole Wolaver the Pottery Lady, Joe Boyd and singer/songwriter Jaime Jamgochian.

Refreshing Impact

LYFE Women’s Conference provides women with spiritual nourishment to help them through the unique trials they face every day. Holloway adds, “LYFE really is a great opportunity for participants to come away and be encouraged and refreshed.”

The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. One participant lost her job right before coming to the conference. She admits, “I was very hurt and scared and was not going to come. With the encouragement of a friend, I decided to come, and the Christian fellowship and teaching has reminded me that God is in control in all things. I am very thankful for the opportunity to come to LYFE.”

Another participant adds, “We cannot do life on our own strength. Situations made me feel that I had to; I have taken my hands off the situation and let go so that God can step in and do what only He can do!”

A History of Impact

LYFE Women’s Conference began with a one-day gathering in 1983, and it has since grown to a three-day conference, held two different weekends, in order to accommodate the hundreds of women who attend.

The director of the conference, Diane Lytle, says “Every year the Lord uses the conference to grow me and my team in our own spiritual walk. Our themes often reflect what is going on in our own lives. This year’s theme was ‘Thrive’ because we all know how important it is to do more than just survive. We can thrive when we trust in God’s power in our lives!”

Holloway sums up the mission of the conference, saying, “LYFE Women’s Conference is dedicated to building our conference on the solid truth of God’s Word. I believe that’s why it is so impacting to so many women. God’s Word is living and powerful, and when you allow God to use it, there is no end to what He can do.”
